I think I spelled that wrong but anyway, I was wondering what you guys that run race gas dilute your gas at. I have a place that I can get 110 & 114 leaded and 100 unleaded (they will pump the 100 into the car for you) race gas and I told the guys I would just do 100 til I find out if it is safe/good for car to dilute the leaded fuel or not. It is total night and day running just half and half (1/4@92 and 1/4@100) and I think I will be adding the 100 octane on a regular bases now. Any ideas on what octane a 92 and 100 1/2 mix would result in? And also is it ok to mix say 114 leaded with a 92 unleaded or is the "leaded" part still going to be BAD?

Defintely run more timing to make use of the higher octane fuel.

I tried running 92 octane w/ octane booster and it worked pretty well. I heard somewhere that it's not safe to do this all the time? Is there any truth to this? I hope not b/c Bumper to Bumper has it on sale for 79 cents a bottle!

Mixing octanes works just like you'd expect.
1 gallon 100 octane + 1 gallon 92 octane
= (92 + 100) / 2 = 96 octane

In the talons around here running 100 octane VP racing gas has meant a .2 and 2 miles (de)increase in the 1/4 mile.
I would think that any amount of lead is going to lead to O2 sensor failure down the road. It all depands on how much and how often you use it.
Here the make you buy a 1/2 tank min and then pour it in for you. You can buy drums if you want then have a 100 gallons of gas in your house. It is quite pricy here it is about $40cdn for that half a tank. Too much money to use all the time but good when you get it.
I have played with octane boost (nos racing - black can) and have found it to reduce tip -det. quite a bit. I notice the diff between 92 and 94 also. I fill up with only 94octane now. If you are going to pay for the gas you better be running more timing to really use it good.

Well I think my next fill up wil be 4 or 5 gallons of 100 unleaded and the rest 92. We can only get 92 around here but I can a great big difference in the responsivenes and the total reduction of det. I think I will bump the timing up to stock and see how the detonation is with the 5 and 9 (14 gallon tank right?) I am already running 12 degrees and didn't have much trouble b4 and not haveing any trouble now. It is $3.75 a gallon here but hey, you go to pay to play
